Hello Blogger Friends,
I have a post that is a little different than my usual. I stumbled upon a book called “The Confident Woman: Devotional 365 Daily Inspirations” by Joyce Meyer while zoning out walking around Target. I was looking for some type of inspiration in the format of a book. This one called my name. Call it fate.
Page one was intimidating to me but I thought why not give it a chance and continue reading – I mean, why not?
Sooooooooooooo… WHAT ARE YOU DOING WITH YOUR LIFE?
You don’t have to believe in God to answer this question. Personally, I’ve been in a huge rut. A HUGE rut. Opening this book couldn’t have happened at a better time and now I’m drawn to it. The premise of this book is for women to read one page per day. Form a relationship (or a stronger one) with God and apply the passage / lesson to your life.
This shit is impactful.
So what are you doing? I’ve been complaining about my mental health and body weight. And guess what. I haven’t been doing a DAMN thing about it. Instead, I’m living in limbo while I regret the next day coming because I know it will be meaningless. But why…
I cannot answer this question. I sleep shitty, work 9 hours at a job I strongly dislike, drive home, stuff my face with unhealthy food most nights when I’m not even hungry, then feel guilty and it is uncomfortable so I eat more in an attempt to ease the guilt (it never works), then I veg out on the couch watching Grey’s Anatomy or Family Guy, THEN it is finally bed time. I enjoy bed time even though I sleep shitty. It is a chance to escape from reality before passing out into unconsciousness.
WOW! I need a change and the point of all of this is that it inspired me to consider changing my routine. Even if it is something really little. Just something, anything, to shake it all up.
I joined a bible study group that will meet Tuesday evenings at 7:00 pm. The group is called “New Beginnings for Women”. This might be the most bold thing I’ve ever done. And friends, it is kind of exciting…
I hope you enjoy the following.
Jesus Come
In the fourth watch [between 3:00-6:00 a.m.] of the night, Jesus came to them, walking on the sea. And when the disciples saw Him walking on the sea, they were terrified and said, It is a ghost! And they screamed out with fright. But instantly He spoke to them, saying, Take courage! I AM! Stop being afraid! -MATTHEW 14:25-27
As was true of the twelve disciples, you are full of capabilities, gifts, and talent. God’s enablement of His grace and presence is with you. So what are you doing with your life? Are you like the eleven disciples who stayed in the boat, or are you like Peter, who when Jesus was passing by said, “Lord, I want to walk on the water with You!” Do you have a vision for your life and want to do something greater than what you’re doing? Are you going to just sit in the boat and shake and quake and watch the rest of the world go by, or will you be one of those rare individuals who jumps out of the boat and refuses to live afraid?
It’s up to you what you’re going to do with your life. Fear is always going to come against you. But listen to Jesus’ words: “Take courage! I AM! Stop being afraid!” It’s time to step out and do the thing you desire to do.

Lord, I praise You that You come to me and extend Your presence and Your helping hand. Like Peter, I want to be a water walker. Amen.
